Another way America is getting back to basics! ***THIS MONTHS QUESTION*** Q. How do I judge the freshness of coffee? A. When purchasing coffee, always ask when it was roasted. Generally coffee is best if used a day or two after roasting, and if kept in an airtight container, flavor should not diminish significantly until after seven to ten days. Old coffee beans may appear very oily, will have little no aroma, or will take on a somewhat unpleasant aroma. ***COMMENTS FROM A CUSTOMER*** I have been doing business with Hawthorne Coffee for about ten years. I was looking for a better cup of coffee at home when I went to Hawthorne Coffee for the first time. I found out that coffee beans are different. I found out that roasting is different. I found that Doris and Julie are very knowledgeable about coffee and tea. My favorite coffee is Dark Mexican, espresso bean is Organic Italian dark roast and my La Pavoni Espresso machine is excellent. Thank you Doris and Julie for having these products at a fair price and teaching me the difference on the good and bad of coffee. Frank Hoffert, Portland, OR.
